How to Use the Zero-Based Budget Calculator
1. Enter Your Income
Start by typing your total monthly income in the “Monthly Income” field.
2. Add Your Spending Categories
- Enter a category name (e.g., Rent, Groceries, Utilities).
- Enter the amount you plan to spend for that category.
3. Add More Categories (Optional)
If you have more categories than the default, click the “+ Add Category” button to create extra fields.
4. Calculate Your Budget
Click the “Calculate” button. The calculator will:
- Show a table of all your categories and amounts.
- Add up your total expenses.
- Tell you whether your budget is zero-based, under budget, or over budget.
5. Adjust Your Budget
- If your budget is under, you can assign the remaining money to savings, debt repayment, or fun categories.
- If it’s over, reduce spending in some categories until your income minus expenses equals zero.
6. Repeat Each Month
